As for the show, I liked the opening song and the show seems interesting. The fat guys nose was a little off putting though and it made me wonder how many times it had been broken to look like that.

Different title but I think I read this manhua a while back. Not 100% match as they seem to have left out one good and one bad part, so not sure it is the same, but the plotline so far seems to be. It was pretty decent for the genre till the manhua stopped.

I usually read the novel and not the manhua, as mentioned before, the manhua tends to make a lot of changes as it targets younger audiences, so it isnt exactly a true source
Donghua in general follows the novel, where it might look as if they are following the manhua, it isnt the case, since certain scenes such as like intimate dual encounters, same sex interactions or nudity are subjected to censorship, studios would have to use methods that are similar to manhua to convey them in order to overcome censorship

I started reading the novel and there are some significant changes here, however it is actually an improvement over the novel. Don't get me wrong, so far the novel is pretty good but the anime/donghua makes the plot much easier to understand.
I got up to chapter 73 and then it stops. I did a lot of searching and found two sites with up to 1634 chapters, both translations for those two sites were quite different from one another and unfortunately, both translations were equally terrible. So you can read the 1st 73 chapters on different sites but from chapter 74 it is just abysmally horrible due to bad translation. I had to give up.

Nice! Yes I read about it on douban, how some people were complaining that certain things changed, but I didnt pay much attention, Dragon's Disciple had a lot more people complaining though lol.

Sometimes adaptation changes are good, it makes the story more interesting such as Fanren, the novel itself wasnt your typical OP character, lot's of girls swooning over the MC, strength increases rapidly it was slower, more solid and had a serious tone, the donghua makes it lighter, more funnier, did you know that Nanggong Wan doesnt appear much in the novel lol

While other adaption changes sometimes do not work, mainly in live action, yes talking about you Soul Land live action and talking about you BTTH live action, you all horrible horrible adaptations, for some screenwriter who made a fantastic adaptation for Joy of Life and Sword Snow Stride you failed badly in these two works

Anyhow, you might have read from previous posts of mine that I was very very very (add another 9 more very) disappointed in Wanmei Shijie's ending so I have been staying away from novels for some days, so I started reading Yong Shen, and I liked it but I have stopped since I discovered a sequel to Fanren, and although disappointed in the ending of the first book, main character ascends to a higher realm without wife is always a big planet sized NO for me, just like Swallowed Stars , however the second book delivered. HAPPY ENDING!!! So after I finish it I will go back to Yong Shen
I guess from now on I will read the ending first before reading the entire novel 🤣

Well I envy you that you can read Yong Shen in Chinese. The 1st 73 chapters were actually pretty good and was really into it, but can't find a good English translation of ch 74+ and the 2 translations I did find were so terribly bad it was painful. They kept referring to "Yan" (the dragon spirit in the painting) - they kept translating him as "the cockroach" - wtf?! From epic spirit of a dragon to cockroach?! And referring to the "Yama King Gold Body" physical body cultivation technique from ch. 73 goes instead to "Jurassic Gold" ?! Plus a bunch of unintelligible nonsense - makes reading the chapter impossible. Really pissed me off.

You can go to lnmtl and see if it is any worse, at least it can get you by if it is better than the ones you are going to. Just go a search on there for eternal life and it should filter down to the right novel
I looked at it's chapter 74 and it refers to Yan as Yan, so far.... lol

Thanks I checked it out but machine translations are really worse than no translations. Aggravating in the extreme. I read a bit but prefer not to. I would rather wait till someone does a good transition then simply allow myself to be aggravated at machine translations of a story that I had previously enjoyed.

It had a good start well good enough to make many of us watch episode too and many of us might as well watch it till the end. The story has potential and is different from all the other starting's that we typically see . The CGI and Other things ( Mainly related to animation team ) Are a bit off but I have seen worse . To start it off a !0/7 and yes I am going to watch it .

Trash is trash. The only type of customers these things gets are rats scavenging for leftovers due to their desperation to feed their belly. One can ask...do they even know what good food is if they're just eating anything off the street? 90% of all anime both chinese and japanese are crap nowadays. Uniqueness is no longer a virtue but rinse and repeat plot lines is what you would consider as "great" since afterall these generic trash worked for people like you.

The edge is strong with this one. Let me guess, you're 16 and you just got your 100th anime under your belt, and have started to notice that every story is recycled? I'm sorry to say, but every story has been recycled for centuries.
